Barkitecture Houston

On the lighter side of things…

Barkitecture Houston, the annual event hosted by Pup Squad in cities across the country to save orphaned puppies, kittens and nursing litters from the streets and other life-threatening situations will hold an open reception and exhibition of winning dog house designs at the Houston Pavilions this Friday, 10/23/09. Every year the Pup Squad sends out an open call to Architects and Designers to reinvent the dog house. Selected entries are then auctioned off to raise money for the cause.

How could we not post this?! On the one hand it’s just plain silly. On the other hand it’s well…you know…Animal Architecture (sigh). And as silly as it may sound, an exercise in designing dog houses might actually do us all some good. Plus everyone already assumes that this is exactly what we here at Animal Architecture are talking about. So, if you’re in the Houston area join the Pup Squad and participating Barchitects (ugh) for a Yappy Hour (sheesh) this Friday, October 23rd from 5-8pm. More information can be found here.
